Meet the 2023-2024 Board Members
AATP's board members select each season and take on leadership roles in an AATP production each year. We come from all across the globe with the common goal of exploring the stories of Asians/Asian-Americans.
Anna Zheng (she/they)
Artistic Director Anna is a TAPS major and Creative Writing minor. She joined AATP as a Fellow freshman year, and has worked on Among the Dead, Next to Normal, and the 3rd and 4th New Works Festivals with the organization. In many ways, AATP has been their home at Stanford, though she also does long-form improv with the Stanford Improvisers and acts/directs with various other organizations. She hates writing in the third person, but likes birdwatching, reading, and biking hazardously on campus. |
Alison Rogers (she/her)
Artistic Director Alison Rogers is a junior from NYC studying Symbolic Systems and Theater and Performance Studies. She first engaged with AATP when she was cast in Among the Dead in Fall 2021, which is one of her favorite productions she's been in to date (the feature of one of her elusive post-high school Instagram posts). You can find her working to death in MemAud, treating her bed like her desk, or lost in the maze of FloMo common rooms. |
Cate Celio (she/her)
Executive Producer Hi! I'm Cate, a junior majoring in Computer Science and double-minoring in Theater & Performance Studies and Music. In the past with AATP, I've performed in Next to Normal and Assistant Stage Managed Mary Magdalene. I am so grateful for the opportunity to create identity specific art and find community in telling stories with AATP <3 |
Serena Tran (she/her)
Executive Producer Serena is a junior majoring in Symbolic Systems (Cognitive Science track) with a double minor in Theater and Performance Studies + Creative Writing. Previously in AATP, she performed in Mary Magdalene, Daughter, Boatperson (Mercy), The Headlands (Leena), and the 3rd Annual New Works Festival. She also co-produced the 4th Annual New Works Festival and assistant produced Next to Normal. She is very thankful for the family AATP has given her, and hopes to continue discovering beautiful art. |
Robert Castaneros (he/him)
Financial Officer Hello friends! My name is Robert Castaneros and I am a senior majoring in Political Science and Asian-American Studies. I joined AATP on a whim and acted in The Headlands (Leena Older) and next to normal (Dan) and have also assistant produced for 410[GONE]. AATP has been an affirming artistic space for me, as it has allowed me to explore an amazing mode of expression and interrogate my Asian-American political investments. I have been cared for and loved in unprecedented ways through this organization, and for that, I am eternally grateful. |
Ian Chang
Technical Director Ian Chang is a lighting designer and technical theater maker currently co-terming in EE and CS (yes, I’m old). He’s previously designed for AATP’s Among the Dead and Next to Normal as well as various shows for Ram’s Head and TAPS. Outside of making theater he enjoys watching theater, going to modern art museums, and eating spicy food. |

Andrew Yung (he/him)
New Works Festival Coordinator Hi :) My name is Andrew, and I'm a senior majoring in English and minoring in Asian American Studies and Computer Science. I'm so glad I joined AATP my sophomore year, when I was a fellow and had the privilege of being in the 2021 New Works Festival Cohort, where I wrote and directed an original hour-long play. Last year, I also co-directed The Headlands and set designed Next to Normal, and this year I am one of the New Works Festival Coordinators! Outside of theater, I also am very involved in filmmaking on campus, both independently and alongside Flying Horse Films. Outside of art making, I love writing, watching movies, and playing sports; all with family and friends! |
Erin Choi (she/her)
Developmental Stage Coordinator |
Leeth Singhage (he/him)
Developmental Stage Coordinator Hello curious person, I'm an actor and writer from Colombo, Sri Lanka - currently a sophomore at Stanford majoring in MS&E and TAPS. My first interaction with AATP was when they very graciously helped produce one of my solo shows (about Sri Lanka's 2022 economic and political crisis) at Stanford my freshman year, and I am excited to contribute to other independent/original projects via AATP's Developmental Stage. Beyond that, I think about how short life is and what silly creatures we are. |
Sidra Xu (she/her)
Developmental Stage Coordinator Hi! I'm a junior majoring in Biology and Computer Science. Previously I worked on The Headlands, next to normal, GROWTHesque, and 410[GONE] with AATP, and now I am excited to be a part of the AATP community! In my free time, I am probably in research lab. |

Hope Yoon (she/her)
Institutional Knowledge Coordinator I'm a writer/translator from Seoul and I've been a part of AATP since my freshman year! I've worked on productions including Among the Dead and next to normal, and my favorite part of theater is fucking around in the rehearsal room trying to see what sticks. |
Emily Zhao (she/her)
Literary Archives Coordinator Hey y'all I'm a third year undergraduate studying Earth Systems and potentially a TAPS minor, but who knows where the wind will blow so mayhaps not. I got involved with AATP through the New Works Festival in spring of 2022, and have been much more interested in plays and theater since then so my role is awesome. I like dancing in contemporary and street styles like house and hip hop, and am on Stanford Legacy Dance Team as co-artistic director. I enjoy instant coffee and being dry at the beach. |
Ruosong Gao (he/him)
Literary Archives Coordinator Former theater amateur now doing a pencil-pusher job at AATP and enjoying the company. As an international student from Beijing, people from this club have been nothing but kind & fun to me. Come to our play readings— or watch New Works Festival performances— to see me! |
Alea Auyeung
Wellness Coordinator Hi everyone! I'm a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education, and I'm a reformed former English major. I just joined AATP this year and it has been an incredible experience working as a Wellness Coordinator and helping keep everyone in the company happy and sane! Growing up with very little AAPI representation in the humanities, it has been incredibly meaningful to be around like-minded people who share similar identities. When I'm not doing mental health-related work, I'm probably watching period dramas or 90s-early 2000s romcoms; reading sad girl literary fiction; writing poetry; or listening to Cantopop (I love you, Faye Wong!) |
Lisa Liu (she/her)
Wellness Coordinator Hi everyone! I'm Lisa, sophomore math major from Shenzhen, China and wellness coordinator for AATP. I was assistant music director for Next to Normal, which is one of my favorite musicals, alongside Dear Evan Hansen and SIX. My favorite fruits are watermelon and mango, and my favorite food is pork-cabbage dumpling. |
Matthew Canlas (he/him)
Social Coordinator To be quite honest, I’m not sure how I got here. I joined some readings, ended up applying to be a stage manager, and now I know why most venues don’t allow live fire during performances. I stay because the vibe is chaotic and accepting and I couldn’t ask for anything more. |
Nhu Pham (she/her)
Social Coordinator Hi, I'm Nhu, I was the Stage Manager for Mary Mag was Spring, and fell in love with all that is AATP! |
Sheruni Pilapitiya
Outreach Coordinator Hi! My name's Sheruni, I'm from Colombo, Sri Lanka, was born in Australia and am also a quarter Chinese. I'm a sophomore majoring in BioEngineering with an Anthropology Minor, focusing on health inequalities for women + reproductive healthcare. I first joined AATP as Diana in Next to Normal - I've always loved the vision of creating space to highlight asian voices in the arts, as well as reimagine otherwise predominantly white spaces through asian artists. In the process of art making, I became more interesting in community organizing, building connections with other artists, and increasing South Asian representation in the group to represent asian narratives in all their diversity. I love all things music, it's my favorite medium to engage with. I love the space AATP creates and can't wait to continue working within the community! |
Zhang Bai-han (he/him)
Outreach Coordinator Baihan was newly elected in Spring 2022. He helps out whenever he can with whatever, offers supportive opinions, and hangs out. He was last seen on Broadway's Hard Rock Cafe storefront taking pictures with a Junkrat impressionist. Off-Broadway: Tutoring High School Kids, Answering the Phone at Bing, Better Call Saul Watch Parties. He'd like to thank his family and friends. |
Khushmita Dhabhai (she/her)
Outreach Coordinator |
Kyla Figueroa (she/her)
General Member Kyla is a senior studying English and CSRE. She joined AATP because everyone is super slay (half-joke). She was an assistant stage manager for Next to Normal (2023) and in the NWF’s actors circle (2023). In her free time, she reads, writes and watches too much TV. She has also gotten into playing very low-stakes tennis. |
D Fukunaga
General Member D is an interdisciplinary artist from the East Bay.They are stoked to join AATP as a board member this year since they had a great time multi-media designing for Next to Normal last year. Their favorite playwrights are Suzan Lori Parks and Sarah Ruhl. They like mountains, being goofy, and learning about Asian American art history! |
Julie Keipp
General Member I joined AATP because of it is a playground of creative freedom and community. I've been involved in the productions of Among the Dead, Mary Mag, The Headlands, Next to Normal, and the 2023 New Work's Festival. When I'm not doing theater stuff, I'm laying down/swimming/watching K-pop videos/frolicking with friends. my ig is @jurubee :) |
